The purpose of the Community Affairs committee is to organize CREW-Atlanta events and programs that positively impact women in our community. The committee's responsibilities include the coordination and fundraising of community service programs, including Compassion in Action, CREW Careers and the Supportive Housing Initiative.
In 1993, CREW-Atlanta launched its annual community service project called Compassion in Action (CIA). Since its inception, CIA has donated $1.2 million to support Atlanta's homeless women and children in conjunction with the CREW Foundation and our granting partner, The Atlanta Women's Foundation. The funds have also been used to provide housing for homeless women and children through CREW-Atlanta's Supportive Housing Initiative, DeLowe Village.
