Job Description:
The Atlanta Housing Authority, a nationally recognized leader in affordable housing, considered to be the national model for providing housing opportunities for low income citizens in market rate quality mixed-use, mixed-income, “children-centered” communities is currently recruiting for a Deputy General Counsel to provide legal advice and support to internal clients. The successful candidate will provide advice on a variety of matters, including but not limited to, real estate transactions, contracting, corporate governance, litigation management, landlord-tenant and regulatory compliance. The successful candidate will also manage a team within the Legal Department.

Degrees, Licenses, Designations: Juris Doctorate
Qualifications, Special Skills:
The ideal candidate will possess a Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school and 15 years of related experience, including at least 10 years of managerial experience. Significant experience providing legal advice to senior executives is likewise required. Required membership to the Georgia Bar Association is to be in good standing or must be admitted within eleven months of employment. We are seeking a candidate with excellent management, analytical and writing skills, superior communication skills and the ability to synthesize information in an environment that is often very fluid, highly charged and fast-paced. This hand-on position requires proficiency in current office technology and software applications.
